Leaves of Absence

A Leave of Absence (LOA) provides job-protected time away from work for qualifying life events or medical needs. Opensity Solutions partners with New York Life to manage leave requests, communications, and return-to-work
coordination.

Pay & Benefits During Leave
Depending on the type of leave, time away may be paid, partially paid, or unpaid. Eligible income replacement may include company‑provided paid leave, short‑term disability, state programs, or accrued PTO. Benefits such as medical, dental, and vision coverage may be continued during approved leaves; employee premium contributions may apply.

How to Request a Leave

  1. Notify Opensity Solutions as soon as you anticipate a need for leave.
  2. Submit a leave request with New York Life online or by phone.
  3. Provide any required documentation (e.g., medical certification).
  4. Stay in contact throughout your leave regarding status and return‑to‑work requirements.

Parental Leave

Opensity Solutions offers two weeks of paid parental leave for employees following the birth, adoption, or foster placement of a child. This leave is available to eligible employees, after one year of employment, and provides 100% pay. If you live in a state that offers paid family leave, Opensity Solutions parental leave will run concurrently with the state benefit and provide a top‑off payment so that you receive your full salary during the six‑week period. Parental leave must be used within the first year following the birth, adoption, or placement of a child and may be taken in increments rather than all at once, depending on business needs and manager approval. Refer to the Parental Leave Policy for details.
